Our Story

Our story spans three generations, rooted in a shared commitment to excellence in agriculture and sustainable harvesting. The business began in 2001, focusing on sugar cane harvesting in the Nelspruit area, managing approximately 900 hectares.

As the next generation stepped in, the business expanded to Malelane, adding a further 1,400 hectares through harvesting for the Malelane Cutting Group. What started as a small, family-driven operation has grown into a respected name in the sugar industry, built on decades of dedication and experience passed from one generation to the next.

In 2002, we approached TSB (now known as RCL Foods) regarding their tender for cane harvesting, and were awarded a three-year contract for an additional 3,000 hectares.

From 2004 onwards, our operations continued to grow as we provided harvesting services for various groups in Malelane and Komatipoort.

In 2007, we officially established Degswa 10133 CC, backed by six years of hands-on experience. Our core business remained sugar cane harvesting, while we also offered planting and weed control services on a smaller scale.

By 2015, after more than 14 years in the industry, we transitioned to Degswa 10133 (Pty) Ltd. Today, we harvest approximately 14,000 hectares each season and continue to expand our footprint in the sugar industry.

We are proud to provide harvesting services to the following cutting groups:

UVS Empangeni

This division is proudly run by the third generation of the family and provides citrus harvesting and other citrus services such as pruning, stripping, and related work for Tulloh and Riverside Farms.

We are honoured to have achieved SIZA Platinum status for the second time — a reflection of our commitment to ethical and sustainable agricultural practices.
